Aloe Vera – A Miraculous Natural Gift For Your Skin

The Aloe Vera plant is known as the “Miracle” plant. The plant is found in most tropical regions and is used domestically for medicinal and cosmetic purposes. Aloe Vera gel gives a cool, soothing effect and its natural healing properties are visible quite soon after use. The plant is a succulent plant, which grows with many long stems and looks like a huge bloom.

Using Aloe Vera for the Skin: Aloe Vera protects our skin from the harmful ultraviolet rays and increases the oxygen level

in the skin. Aloe Vera gel penetrates deep inside the ‘epithelial’ level which is the second layer of the skin and heals it. One unique property of Aloe Vera is that it is very light on the skin, has a soothing effect, is oil-free and boosts the growth of healthy new cells. Our skin absorbs moisture from Aloe Vera 4 times faster than it does from water.

This miracle plant, Aloe Vera is used in treating burns, sunburns, scratches, insect bites and stings, eczemas, skin ulcers, psoriasis, canker sores, and wounds. Various research has been done by the Mayo Clinic and the findings in relation to these treatments are phenomenal. The Aloe plant creates a moisture film which shields the affected area from infection. The medicinal properties found in the plant, Gibberellins, enhance skin re-growth while soothing the trauma area, creating instant and needed relief.

Aloe Vera is also widely used to treat sunburns. It is very important to be precautionary and take good care of sunburns, if you experience any, at any point in time. Sunburns if ignored can lead to serious troubles. Too much of sunburn if left untreated can cause skin cancer. A natural way to combat sunburn is by applying Aloe Vera gel to the affected area 3-4 times a day.

Application of the Aloe Vera gel is very easy. Cut a portion of a leaf horizontally, exposing the clear, gel-like flesh. You can rub on the gel on the infected area; or you can scrape some of the gel in a bowl and apply forming a light film which will dry encasing the treated area, protecting it from infection.
