Cinnamon and Honey – A Wonder Combination


Honey and cinnamon is a miraculous combination that has the potential to cure many diseases. Individually both honey and cinnamon offer many health benefits but their combined benefits are unmatchable. Combination of cinnamon and honey helps reduce risks of heart disease, cholesterol, skin problems, cough and cold, digestive disorders, etc. This combination has been used as a natural medicine for generations.


Cinnamon burns calories, increases body metabolism and purifies the blood. It is especially useful for people suffering from heart disease, cholesterol, skin problems, cough and cold and digestive disorders. All in all everybody should include this wonder spice in their everyday life.


Honey is a unique food that does not stale ever. It may crystallize if kept for a long period of time but will never spoil. One must never boil/microwave honey as this activity kills the useful enzymes present in it. It contains vitamins and iron. It is especially very beneficial in the treatment of asthma. Honey helps to get rid of mucous and prevents it from further generation. It is beneficial for all kinds of respiratory disease. Honey is a very good source of carbohydrates hence it gives strength and energy, improves the immune system, prevents cancer, is great for all skin problems, etc.


Having seen the benefits of honey and cinnamon individually, let us now see the benefits when both these are combined:

  1. Heart problems: The regular consumption of cinnamon and honey diminishes the level of cholesterol present in the arteries. This eventually reduces the risk of a heart attack and strengthens the overall functioning of the heart. This natural method cleanses the arteries and veins and removing the clots. While having flatbread or toast, apply a paste of cinnamon powder and honey on it. Eat this every day.

  2. Arthritis: There are been numerous experiments around this world which have proved that the people saw tremendous improvements by consuming cinnamon and honey everyday. People were given honey and cinnamon with 1 cup of lukewarm water; 2 tsp of honey and 1/2 small tsp of cinnamon powder every morning before breakfast for a month for evident results. One can also do this 3 times a day in case of chronic condition. The results were such that the patients started walking and sitting without experiencing any pain at all.

  3. Bladder infection: Have 2 tbsp of honey and 1 tsp of cinnamon powder with 1 cup of lukewarm water. It cleanses and purifies the bladder.

  4. Cholesterol: Taking 1 tbsp of honey and 1 tsp of cinnamon powder with half a liter of lukewarm water. Have this between intervals of 2-3 hours everyday. It can even cure chronic cholesterol. Cholesterol patients should include the honey and cinnamon in daily everyday diet.

  5. Cough and cold: Have 1 tbsp of honey and 1/4 tsp of cinnamon powder for three days at a stretch. This remedy cures chronic cough and cold and removes all blockages. This also provides relief from old accumulated cough. Honey contains an ingredient which helps prevent flu and kills germs.

  6. Stomach ache and ulcers: Cleans the stomach and relieves any ache, gases and ulcers. Taking 2 tbsp of honey with pinch of cinnamon powder before meals aids in digestion and prevents acidity.

  7. Immunity: Consumption of honey and cinnamon powder on a daily basis builds the immunity system and protects from all kinds of ailments in general. It increases the white blood cells count in the body and gives strength to fight against virus and bacteria.

  8. Skin itching: Take equal quantity of cinnamon powder and honey and make a paste. Apply on the affected area.

  9. Acne: Make a paste of cinnamon powder and honey. Apply this on the face for half an hour and then wash off.

  10. Wrinkles/symptoms of old age: Have tea made with 5 cups of water, 4 tsp of honey and 1 tsp of cinnamon powder. Have this throughout the day.

  11. Bad breadth: Gargle with 1 tsp of honey and cinnamon powder in equal quantity mixed in hot water. Do this first thing in the morning for breadth fresh throughout the day.

  12. Obesity: Boil 1/2 tsp of cinnamon powder with 1 glass of water. Now add 2 tbsp of honey and prepare a tea. Have this half an hour before breakfast and before going to sleep. This remedy flushes out any excess fat from the body and prevents further accumulation of fat. Do this regularly. This will give noticeable results in just a few days.

  13. Diabetes: Take 1/2 tsp of cinnamon powder with a cup of hot water. In the case of chronic condition, have this 2 times a day.

  14. Eczema: Make a paste of equal quantity of honey and cinnamon powder and apply on the affected parts.

  15. Fatigue: Take 1/2 tbsp of honey in a glass of lukewarm water sprinkled with some cinnamon powder 2 times a day (after brushing in the morning and then at 3 p.m.) for at least 7 days at a stretch.

  16. Intestinal gas: Take 1 tbsp of honey with 1/4 tsp of cinnamon powder.

  17. Hearing loss: Take equal quantity (1/2 tsp) of honey and cinnamon powder and have this with toast or cereals in the morning and night every day.

  18. Indigestion: Take 1 tsp of honey and add 1/4 tsp of cinnamon powder and have before meals. This relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.

  19. Ringworms (Daad) and boils: Make a paste of equal quantity of honey and cinnamon powder and apply on the affected parts.

  20. Asthma: Mix 1 tsp of honey and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon powder. Take this every night before going to bed.

  21. Stress: Take 1 tsp of honey and sprinkle some cinnamon powder on it and have.

  22. Bladder infection: Have 2 tbsp of honey and 1 tsp of cinnamon powder with 1 cup of lukewarm water.

  23. Headache: Take some warm water and 1/4th tsp of cinnamon powder (just a very thin paste as cinnamon can feel strong to the skin). Apply the paste on the forehead for 5-10 minutes.

  24. Cancer: Make a paste of 1 tbsp of honey and 1 tsp of cinnamon powder and have it 3 times a day. It is especially useful in case of bone and stomach cancer.

  25. Dull skin and body: Have tea made with 5 cups of water, 4 tsp of honey and 1 tsp of cinnamon powder. Have this throughout the day. It keeps the body energetic, and makes the skin look fresh and glowing.
