Dates are a balanced and a wonder food item in terms of offering innumerable health benefits. Dates are superfoods and just by having 3-4 dates every day, one can get rid of a lot of health problems. In this article, we intend to show how dates can be specifically used to cure various diseases and ailments. Dates are so rich in minerals and vitamins that one should keep it handy at home and use it every day or whenever need be.

Ayurvedic Recipes

Anemia: Have 3-4 dates along with 1 cup of milk and 1/2 tsp of clarified butter (ghee). Dates have significant levels of iron which makes it a must have food item for anemic patients. Dates give energy and strength.


High blood pressure: Take 1 cup of milk and boil 4 dates in it. Let is cool down and leave it overnight. Have the milk and dates in the morning. If the condition is severe, one can do these 2 times a day.


Fatigue/weakness: Soak 5 dates in a bowl of water. Next morning have the water along with the dates. Dates are a great energy booster loaded with nutrients.


Cough: Take 1 cup of milk and boil 4 dates. Have this in the morning and evening. Have the milk along with dates.


Allergies: Have 2-3 dates when symptoms persist. Organic Sulfur which is one of the rare food elements is found in dates. Organic sulfur cures allergies. A study was done in 2002 which proved that organic sulfur compounds do cure the people suffering from SAR (Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis). SAR is very common and affects 23 million people in the US alone.


Weight Gain: Dates is a weight gain food as it contains a lot of sugar, proteins and vitamins. One kg of dates contain 3,000 calorie.


Boost energy levels: Dates are high fructose and glucose. These offer immediate source of energy; just within half an hour.


Nervous System Health: Immerse 2-3 dates in water overnight. Have the dates along with the water in breakfast. Dates contain vitamins which boost the nervous system and improve the function of the nervous system. Dates improve the capacity of the brain and sharpen the same.


Healthy Heart: Immerse 2-3 dates in a cup of water. Crush the dates in the morning and have them along with the water. Dates are a great source of potassium. It has been seen that dates reduce the level of LDL cholesterol in the body.


Sexual Weakness: Have 2-3 soaked dates in the morning. Studies have proved that dates raise sexual stamina and cure sexual disorders. The scientific reason behind this is that dates contain estradiol and flavonoid components which increase sperm quality and count and increase testes weight and size.


Night Blindness: Studies have shown that having soaked dates reduces the condition of night blindness. Having dates regularly strengthens the eyes and improve its health.

Intoxication: Dates also reduces the bad effects of excessive alcoholism such as drowsiness, nausea and headache.


Diarrhea and constipation: Have 1-2 pieces of dates. Ripe dates contain fiber and potassium which help in relieving diarrhea. Dates regulate the bowel movements and promote the normal functioning of the excretory system. Dates have soluble fiber clears the intestinal tract.


Abdominal Cancer: Immerse 3-4 dates in water overnight. Have the dates along with the water in breakfast. Dates are rich in fiber, manganese, vitamins, minerals, potassium, phosphorous, copper, calcium, and magnesium. Dates prevent cancer by working as a tonic. This remedy is especially useful in case of abdominal cancer.


Bone Health and Strength: Dates are very rich in minerals which strengthen bones and prevent joint pain issues such as arthritis.


Intestinal Disorders: Regular consumption of dates cures intestinal disorders. Dates contain nicotine which boosts the growth of healthy bacteria in the intestinal organ.
