The researchers at the University of Washington studied the effects of drinking cold water and came up with the fact that it is not good for anyone at all. People who live in hot temperate zones can still have moderate cold water.


Ice cold water causes Fatty Stomach

Intake of ice cold water causes fat accumulation in the stomach. Ice water freezes the fat content of the food and makes them indigestible. The pads of fat formed in the stomach accumulate in the stomach walls and lead to fatty stomach.


Ice cold water causes Stomach Bloating and Indigestion

Ice cold water diminishes the stomach’s ability to digest the meal properly. Drinking ice cold water is detrimental to proper digestion and absorption of the food. Ice water restricts the digestion process and shrinks the blood vessels. The energy which should be used for digestion is instead used to regulate the body temperature. This reduces the water content in the body making way for dehydration.  


Decreases Immunity

Ice cold water retards the digestion of fatty acids and consequently leads to storage of fat in the stomach, cough, sore throat, throat infection and belly fat. Ice cold water gives way to the formation of mucus in our body. This decreases the immunity of the body and makes people catch cold, cough and fever easily.
