Omega 3; Deficiency and Symptoms

Deficiency of Omega 3 can cause some serious damage to your body. If identified early, it can be cured by including foods rich in Omega 3. In severe cases, Omega 3 deficiency can lead to death. There are many symptoms that indicate that your body needs more of Omega 3. Some of them include:

  • Rough/dry skin

  • Intense thirst

  • Frequent Urination

  • Sleeping issues

  • Lack of focus

Note that these are some general symptoms associated with Omega 3 deficiency. One should always consult a doctor first before jumping to any conclusions. These symptoms can often develop into diseases if not treated on time. Deficiency of Omega 3 can cause a host of health issues from something as simple as acne to as severe as Alzheimer’s. Therefore, it is best to include Omega 3 fortified foods in one’s diet to avoid this kind of deficiency.

Excess of anything is bad and the same goes for Omega 3. It is good in the required doses but too much of it injurious to health. For example, consumption of too much oils leads to acne. It may also lead to heartburns, severe acidity, diarrhea, stomach ache and a host of other problems. Therefore, it is always recommended that you have Omega 3 as per the prescribed amount. With a little caution, one can avoid the side effects of over consumption.
